MATTHEW SILVERSTEIN is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at NYU Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining NYU, he was a Robert E. Keiter Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Amherst College. Matthew specializes in ethics and the philosophy of action. He is particularly interested in the question of whether the normative authority of reasons for action can be grounded in the nature of agency. Other teaching and research interests include political philosophy, early modern philosophy, and the history of ethics. Matthew is also a panelist for AskPhilosophers.
