ELI ALSHANETSKY was born in Ukraine and grew up in Israel. He went to college at UC Berkeley, graduating in 2004 with a B.A in philosophy and cognitive science. Before coming to NYU, he spent two years at a psychology lab in Princeton. He likes to spend his free time traveling, reading and writing fiction, playing chess and checking out music and visual art.
