ELIZABETH VLAHOS graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers in 1998 with a B.A. in philosophy and a minor in classical humanities. She was also awarded departmental honors in philosophy upon graduating. Her main interest is philosophy of mind; some of her special interests within it include: externalism and self-knowledge, representational theories of consciousness, attempts to naturalize content, and the philosophical implications of David Marr's computational theory of visual processing. For the past year, Liz was a student in CUNY's Ph.D. program, where she held the Robert Gileece Fellowship and worked as editorial assistant at the Journal of the History of Philosophy.

Before returning to school Liz managed an independent bookstore in Manhattan and played bass in a band. She enjoys shooting pool, skiing, bar-hopping, and reading voraciously. She loves playing roller hockey and watching ice hockey, mostly for the fights. She also loves her motorcycle, a 1981 Suzuki GS250, which she hopes to upgrade soon.
